Honey.....it's one in two. 50 % of them end this way. Personally, I think people change, or people just rush into it thinking that this is what they are "supposed" to do. So they end up quitting because reality sets in and they realize that the person they are with is NOT the person they want to grow old with. And anyway, I think that that is such a daunting thought. Growing old with someone. That is so long! Life is long. It's like eating the same crackers every single day of the rest of your life! You need to choose carefully. Most people don't. Plus some people bring in dysfunction like alchoholism and abuse. Which is extremely hard to deal with. And if you have kids, you really have to weigh in what is important. I understand that there is the God factor for a lot of people, but God gave us the power to reason and make our own decisions in life. So for some, divorce is a life saver. Maybe this is why people live longer than ever now. Because if you live not for yourself, but for what you are supposedly suppose to do, you invite sickness into your life. I think religion has really screwed with peoples thinking too. People need to allow for differences in life and accept that what is right for some might not be right for everyone else. Marriage can be such a fantastic fantasy. Someone going through life with you, through all the bumps and joys. The milestones. But the reality is much more difficult than anticipated. But, there are some success stories. And it would be nice if there were more of those. But they will probably tell you that it wasn't an easy road. It takes work and dedication. And truthfully, most people don't have the time to focus on the marriage. They have to work to survive, the focus is on jobs and making it through another day.

for a variety of reasons. people are immature. people don't make enough effort to make them work. Financial pressures to supposed to contribute alot to divorce, which is sad. People are not open very much to getting help with their marriages. They want to cope alone.
