Actually, despite so-called taboos which are derived for early teachings there is no medical reason against a union between cousins. The odds of anything going wrong with a child is about the same as with any other birth. If you check this out you will find this to be true. Check with Dr. Oz if you don't believe this. So, the bottonline is that the taboo is strictly cultural. Good luck!

nicely, you are able to desire to no longer in all risk comprehend who all your 10th cousins are. You the two final shared an ancestor ten generations returned, perchance 1700 or till now. It relies upon how prolific your ancestors have been and how in lots of circumstances they interbred, yet there may be a pair of million 10th cousins. in case you reside in a small city and there hasn't been lots immigration, possibilities are high maximum each physique is a lot closer than 10th. in the united kingdom, first cousin marriage is criminal, besides the undeniable fact that it is not precisely hassle-loose. It custom in some united kingdom populations for cultural motives and over generations leads to greater desirable frequency of particular inherited genetic circumstances. As a one off it would not enhance the prospect lots, nevertheless. by the way, i've got slept with my lady cousin, besides the undeniable fact that we've on no account pondered getting married.

Not if you are from the deepest, most backwards, back woods of Alabama or Mississippi! =)
No, that was bad, but seriously, it isn't okay. It's incest and really gross. If there is ANY blood that is shared between one person to another through MUTUAL relatives......then it's incest. Period.
Only a BAZILLIONTH cousin a BAZILLION times removed who was adopted out of the family at birth and raised hundreds of miles away and has a different name, so they would never actually find out they are mildly somehow related anyway......
only in THAT situation it would be okay. But what are the odds???

No its not okay. It's incest. And morally just plain disgusting. I dont think 2 cousins are allowed to even get married but I may be wrong. But your sis and this boy are first cousins what are they thinking and how did they get to this point. I couldn't even imagine wanting to be with any of my cousins.

200 years ago it was ok for that ..it was even accepted as a way to keep the wealth in the family but back then they did not realize how their children would turn out.. my advice would be to gather up enough info on children born out of incest and present it to the couple maybe you could change their minds when they what they are in for ( meaning their children they may have) my ex husband grandparents were like that first cousin had i have known i may not have married him, our kids turned out fine so far exect for bedwetting which they got from his mom side of the family the incest came from his dad.. but his dad and all his brothers and sister had respetory promblems and other heath promblems, just do all the research you can so you can prove your point.

well..by law people can marry their second cousin....but first cousins.....the only worry is that the family tree may run in too straight a line.. they might also want to look into the medical frequency of any possible effects if they were to conceive a child...
better safe than sorry

How do you believe the human population survived, incest? I personally know a couple that are blood first cousins that are married. They have three girls and everything is normal. So yeah, I see nothing wrong with it at all.

Yes, its wrong. I know someone like that. If they got married and had children, the kids would continually get teased by their peers. And everytime someone asked them their mother's maiden name they would feel ashamed and dread to give the answer. You have to think about who all is going to be affected by this. Hopefully your sister will look elsewhere for love.

It is wrong. A cousin is the next closest thing to a brother or sister.
