I would like to know whether the probability of an outlier appearing approaches zero as the number of events considered approaches infinity.

It has been pointed out that infinity cannot be "reached" and therefore cannot be approached. If this is so, why does the derivation and integration of mathmatical functions appear to rely upon the idea of numbers "approaching infinity"?
