The flower names are always nice - Lily, Rose, May etc.

The virtue names are lovely too - Prudence, Patience, Charity etc.

Or there are the biblical names - Esther, Deborah, Tabitha, Mary, Elizabeth.

If you want something unusual there are the Celtic and Saxon names - Gudrun, Fionnuala and so on.

Names like this will wear so much better than those tacky made-up names people are now using. Your sister needs to remember the girl may grow up to be something serious like a surgeon or judge and then a name like Dakota or Kayleen will be seriously embarrassing for her. Best to stick to the real names and save the others for the cat and dog.

I had a miscarriage three years ago, and in my heart, I knew it was a girl. I named her Angelia Rose. I thought that was so pretty. Angelia I got from a Richard Marx song of the same name back in the late 80's/early 90's and it just stuck with me. And Rose was from my favorite Aunt. I also really like the names Savannah, Sierra (alternatively spelled Ciara), Madison (Maddie for short), and Tiffany.

There are other names I really like, but don't much care for the nicknames. Consider this when naming your daughter. For example, I like the name Rebecca, but can't stand Becky. Same with Jennifer, that's pretty, but I really don't like Jen or Jenny. So just really think about how others can shorten your daughter's name and if you like the abbreviated version or not.

Do yourself and your daughter a favor though, don't mess with spellings of otherwise common names too much, because all it will do is make her have to deal with having her name mis-spelled or having to spell out her name to people for the rest of her life...just my opinion.

Hope this helps, and congratulations on your little miracle! :)

Pumpkinpiepetunia. Oh! You mean a REAL name. Mine is Heather Liberty Colleen Lastname-Marriedname. My daughters are Greta Grace Corrinne Lastname and Elia Laina Honore Lastname. Go ahead and take any of those. But be forwarned: any daughter named Lastname will be laughed at in school.

I've always liked the name Adelia (uh-dee-leah). Or Mikaila Grace. Or Nicole Renee. Or Zoey. Or Tatum (then you could call her tater-tot). What I did though was I had five or so names picked out and then I waited until I could see what she looked like.

it's a big responsibility to name a child. that name could have negative effect as a child due to mean children and a negative effect as an adult due to unisex names
I named my oldest daughter after my mom's middle name, which is very unique, Lorine and my youngest daughter after my favorite book, Peter Pan; and her name is Wendy.
I really like the name Alexandria now, but don't think that I will have anymore children

Well, my husband and I were looking for names that maybe reminded us of Vegas since we got married there 2 years ago and it's our fav place. We thought of all kinds of crazy ones ( Newton, Vegas, Elvis...etc. ) and then I came up with Sahara. We stayed at the Sahara Hotel when we got married.......now that we know it's a girl it is one of our choices. Maybe my suggestion will help you come up with a special one of your own. My husband got me a book from the library called, "So you named me what?" It's about celebrities and thier baby names..... maybe that will help. We decided Sahara will be the middle name and here is our other choices:
1. Charlotte (Charley for short)
2. Darla
3. Lila
