I usually watch films for a laugh as you can probably tell from the following favourites: Airplane, Amelie
For romance I like Ever After, Gwyneth Paltrow's Emma, and Sliding Doors.
I also like old black and white films. I love the Third Man - it's comic, it's beautifully shot and it has different people. This was before the formulaic Hollywood films of today. Brief Encounter is another favourite.
My horror favourite is a Company of Wolves starring Sarah Patterson. Beautiful, scary, unusual.
It's impossible for me to choose a favourite - and it really depends on my mood.

Possibly The Philadelphia Story, or maybe The Desk Set; The African Queen is DEFINITELY in the running.
Das Boot is WAY UP THERE, too! :-))
The John Malkovich version of Of Mice And Men is in there, too....
Jean De Florette and Manon Of The Spring....
Tough call!

I have two.
The Blues Brothers. A popular choice and a not very cult film these days either, but I love it.
The other is Vanishing Point (Barry Newman and Cleavon Little).

Well mine is every teenager movie you can think of because they all are equally the same and you can never tell or decide which is good. So you should try to pick every film and not judge which is good and which is not. Just take my advise. Hope it can help even though you never asked for the help!!!!!!!!!! see ya.
