pretend for a moment that you found yourself in a alternate reality. this world has mythical creatures and you are a powerful wizard or surceress. you were trapped there for 2 years. The creatures have come to love and adore you; and even worship you. you also have come to love & adore some of them. now here is the tricky part. you found out a doorway back to your world will open that day and then close forever after that. But a terrible event is about to happen and you are the only hope of survival for these creatures. do you go back to your family,freinds & life you knew or do you stay and save them?

We all end up where we are supposed to be. I love my friends and family, and I would try to find another way to get back to them. If I found one, there are bound to be others.....and if I found my self in this alternate reality...had put my self in a position of power....then it would be my responsibility to do everything I could for the beings who depended on me. I obviously have come to love and care for these beings as much as I do for my family and friends, or I woudln't be torn..so to me, the answer is obvious. Stay and help them and find another way home. I must have been meant to be there.

Wow, good question. I think that I would stay and help them esp if I was there only hope. It would be hard going back to my real life knowing that by not helping something was destroyed.

i think most people are selfish and will answer this question in relation to how happy they are in their lives right now. if you love your life then you're likely to want to come back to it, regardless. however if when you imagine this scenario you envisage yourself being happier than you currently are then you'll say that you'd stay...and claim brownie points for being a good person; sacrificing yourself for something else.

WTF? That was the choice the kids had to make in the Chronicles of Narina:The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe! I would have stayed because I am their only hope, unlike them, who went back to their crappy life.
