EVERYONE IS INCORRECT!!! The two vehicles you mention are two different body styles. Yes they are correct in stating that a 5.0L V8 was an option in 1989. BUT, there are A LOT of differences between the two. The V6 car uses a 7.5" rear end, while the V8 uses an 8.8". Another thing to consider, is the difference in instrument clusters. Your tachometer may not work after the swap. You are better off locating a similar yeared, wrecked vehicle to use as a donor vehicle, and use EVERYTHING from the donor vehicle pertaining to the powertrain and electronics. Either that, or simply buy a V8 equipped T-bird.

yes it will first change the radiator the one that comes with the v8 the mounts should be the same for both radiators change the motor mounts computer and wiring from the 1987 thunderbird to the 1989 thunderbird the bodies in those two years should not have changed that much

Yes it will fit as the T-birds did also offer a 5.0 the only thing is you may need change might be the motor mounts and use all V-8 part after that i.e....5.0 V-8 Rad, Alternator,Steering Box,Headers,...etc.

Yes, with a lot of effort, parts, and frustration... If you want a V-8, sell your car and get one that comes stock with a V-8. Another option, look into the Lincoln LSC, I have a 1989 that came stock with a 5.0L HO motor that runs very well due to some mods... These car are based on a T-bird body, have HO motors, (not all), nice interiors, 4 wheel disc anti-lock brakes, etc...

Everyone sounds right so far, but you also may need to change computer control boxes if the cars have them installed.
