People are idiots and trying to ruin a perfectly innocent holiday. Killings and sexual abuse have no relation to Halloween. Those same things happen every other day of the year (ever hear of the Valentine Massacre on "the most romantic day of the year"?) and no one seems to care so why is Halloween always singled out as being evil?

Some people are really messed up and there were those who used the Halloween as a holiday to promote their sick ideas. It used to be called "Hallows Eve": the night before November first. I don't remember all about the history of it but it started out innocently as a celebration of the 'spirits' or people who had died but it was used by some people (yes, satanists were some of those) to force their beliefs and actions on others.

The holiday of Halloween as a FUN, and INNOCENT night for children to enjoy should go on.

It is a confusing time for myself because I have had my own past experiences with cult. Even after many years of being out of those situations, I still feel anxiety and fear this time of year.

Making sure your own celebrations are safe and enjoyable for all attendees does more to thwart those who use abuses and killings than trying to understand them or do anything about their doings.

Im not certain that there are more murders and sexual abuses happening on Halloween than on any other holiday night. There never seems to be anything more than the standard "check the candy before you eat it" warnings. So, No. Halloween should go on as usual.
