They are just a little too tight and I would like to take them out a little bit.

Sleep in them, sounds silly, but jeans stretch out. So sleep in them for a few nights and they will fit looser.

How about losing some weight? Seems like the obvious answer. Isn't that better than cutting up perfectly good clothes?

Otherwise, wash them in cold water and let them air dry, I hang mine in the 2nd bathroom over the tub. They take a day to dry, but they won't shrink in the dryer (bad for jeans, wears them out prematurely)

I'm not sure how to let them out if they're store bought. They don't generally leave much room for that...but what we used to do when I was younger...is to get into the bathtub WEARING your jeans. Then you have to walk around in them for a while and bend and twist and all of that, while they're wet. Then take them off and let them dry over a chair. Don't put them in the dryer.

its hard to alter jeans and make them bigger, because you can't really add material that isnt there. most of the time there isnt any excess in jeans, they can be made smaller but not bigger. look for the brand/style you like on ebay in a size bigger...i just bought some Seven jeans (retail for $150) on ebay for $50 including shipping, brand new with tags.

I find that after I wear my jeans for a bit they stretch a little, and are much more comfortable :-)

buy an extender found in most fabric places like walmart. (this extends the button about 2 inches without looking weird).
