Oh boy if I treated my family the way I get treated on here sometimes I wouldn't admit to having a family. But when I get a sweet answer to a question I feel closer to that person and when I see someone crying out for help I feel a tad maternal.

Yes, in a way we are. Have you noticed that any group of people with a common interest or goal, tend to bond somewhat. Human nature I guess, to want to belong and feel we are not alone.
