Didn't Kansas City (a team with more than 100 losses in 2006) sweep the season ending series with the Tigers? And didn't the Tigers give up the division championship as a result? And didn't the Tigers not do so well against the better teams in the American league in 2006 regular season? This being true...why did so many expect them to win in the Series with a sweep?
Is it possible that the sports media mislead so many fans just like the liberal news media does in their business?
It's just something to think about.

Is it possible?

If you believe the liberal news media you just might believe that George W. Bush is the worst president ever. They swarm on him as they do most all conservatives when they 'mess up' but tend to keep it hush hush whenever the Dems do it.

Yep, Tigers are finished. They were almost something, but went to nothing.

Is it possible that Fox News isn't liberal? Is it possible that Fox News are a bunch of conservative right-wing war lovers?
Is it possible that you're just bitter cos George W. Bush is the worst president in U.S. history?
Don't call all news liberal. Fox News is the worst biased news organization out there.
Finally, Detroit didn't do all that well in Sept., neither did the Cardinals. And guess what? All these Detroit fans that said they'd sweep the Cards were wrong. There were Tigers fans in here acting like they were the Yankees of the 1920s era....I don't hear that stuff anymore!! I wonder why not! All these "experts" were DEAD WRONG. I AM PUMPED!
Go CARDS!!!!
lol

well after the tigers beat the yankees and then swept my poor A's they seemed unstoppable. The cardinals were a broken down team who struggled with injuries all year and struggled to make the playoffs. The tigers have very good young pitching and when they are on which they were the first two series of the playoffs they were next to unhittable. the tigers were also swinging the bat well coming into the series with the cardnials and everyone thought it would carry over me including.

yes they did,
remember the tigers don't play that well.
they had begun sucking when the current owner took over the team, back in the early 90's. there last winning season was 93, until this season the owner had tried everything to get them to win and fill the seats, the owners and management had thought that by bringing in fan favorite former players to manger and coach would help, but it did not ,so why think that they would win the world series.

yeah.....
when we tore up the unstoppable Yankees, the media jumped on and said that we couldn't be stopped...even moreso after the A's.
Those SOB's jinxed us....or was it the voodoo crud on Kenny Rogers' hand that jinxed us...i.e., bad karma!
