Tubal ligation, commonly knows as “getting your tubes tied,” is a surgical sterilization technique for women. This procedure closes the fallopian tubes, and stops the egg from traveling to the uterus from the ovary. It also prevents sperm from reaching the fallopian tube to fertilize an egg. In a tubal ligation, fallopian tubes are cut, burned, or blocked with rings, bands or clips. The surgery is effective immediately. Tubal ligations are 99.5% effective as birth control.
I would get a pregnancy test to be sure.

Boy, this seems pretty cut and dried. It depends.
If she had a standard tubal ligation surgery, then yes. She can still get pregnant. If she had a modified tubal ligation surgery where they removed part of the fallopian tubes before sealing them, then it'd be harder but is still possible. If her ovaries were removed, then no. She may have a tumor or be heading into menopause, but no pregnancy. As long as any female still has her ovaries and a vagina (no, you don't *need* a uterus, they just come in really, really handy) she can still get pregnant. The odds of it happening are slim to none, but it could happen.

What operation did you have? A tubal ligation? If that's the case remember tubes can grow back together in about 7 years, however, if you had your tubes tied and burnt that is a more permanent procedure

My daughter had her tubes tied in 2000 after the birth of their second child.
In 2004, she had her 3rd child.
Yes, you can get pregnant after your tubes are tied. You should do a pregnancy test AND see a dr, because it could be a tubal pregnancy, which can cause you to bleed internally. (Plus, it can hurt a lot if it is bleeding).
Blessed be,
Gypsy

it's possible...it depends on what they did..whether they tied the tubes or took out the ovaries..it all depends but if they just tied the tubes then it's a possibility they came untied..take a pregnancy test...what does it say???
