I'm about to go see the Grudge 2, but I didn't see the first one and I don't want to be entirely lost. Could anyone just give me a quick run-down of what happened/who's the important people?

The house is haunted by the family who lived there previously. The mother loved an American teacher named Peter (Bill Pullman) and wrote in a diary about him, which her husband found. In a rage, he kills her, his son, and the family cat, then hangs himself. Anyone who enters the house is cursed to die. Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) realizes what is going on and goes to stop her boyfriend Doug (Jason Behr) from entering it. Arriving too late, she manages to set it on fire with some gas left over by Detective Nakagawa (Ryo Ishibashi) and Greg's lighter. The next day as she examines her Greg's body, the police mention how fortunate it was that she survived, and that they manged to save the house. We see that the mother is standing right behind Karen. She gives Karen the same evil look she does to her other victims and as Karen screams the screen cuts to black.

Stupid movie about a stupid little boy who sounds like a cat and some scary girl that crawls out of walls to attack Buffy the Vampire slayer.
Don't waste your money.

girls goes to japan, needs work, get put in this house to take of an old lady, house has creepy kid haunting it, turns out kid mom were murdered in the house by father. lot of scary stuff girl goes nuts more scary stuff. now part 2 to find out what happend to girl. something like that.

~~~ok,,,,just let me say this......I truley think that the Japanese version of the Grudge (it was the origional in Japanese,,,just like Rangu (the Ring)) was soooooo scary,,,,the American version,,,ahh ok. the Japanese version of almost any horror movie sooo out ranks the American version,,,,,
