Oooh yeah, taking that last minute shower, shaving your legs and making sure you look good... Just so you can cry and get makeup on your cheeks... Makes for good dramatic pictures afterward! LOL

Yes! I thought I was the only one who did that! I know what most people will say about being vain, but I was miserable, fat, and hated the way I looked. With a little make-up and hair done, I felt like a normal woman. I actually was so obsessed about it, that a year after I had my son, I started a small business servicing pregnant women by doing their hair and makeup before the birth, and after the birth. They were ecstatic to be able to be pampered and look good for their photos. I did hair for 6 years before I started that. It worked great, but now I have to work full-time, and can't do the wierd hours of hospital hair anymore! LOL! It's important to feel good about yourself when everyone is looking at you! :)

That's a funny question but a good one. I took a shower I used Peach Nectar shower gel by The Body Shop and then I greased my body down with Vaseline because I didn't want my legs to be ashy while my fiance was taping.I had just had my hair crimped like 2 days before so I sprayed a whole bottle of holding spray on my hair so that if I started to sweat in labor my hair wouldn't mess up as fast. And then I went to the hospital.

I totally did this with the birth of my second son. After the first one and the horrible pictures that came back it was a definite and I got to tell you looking good did make me feel a little better esp. after the epidural. Oh yeah! those pictures did turn out great, pretty baby pretty mommy. Do it if you want to, do it if it matters to you, do it if you feel up to it. Probably best if you're going to be induced. best wishes on the birth of your child If this is about you.

No i did think about it but towards the end of the pregnancy i just was'nt able and anyway nobody cares wot u look like, would'nt advise on the makeup as it would probably run everywhere, giving birth is hard work.

Absolutely!!!! And I looked good, too. LOL!! It's pretty funny when people see pictures of me right after giving birth to both my girls and they comment on how it looks like I just did my makeup. :) I didn't care about it so much while I was in labor, but looking back at the pictures, I'm glad I did it!!

Yes, I was totally vain when young. I had everything coiffed and manicured and smelling good when I went to the hospital to deliver my son. Even shaved my own nether parts.

I think labor is a lot about attitude. If you feel you look good; then you will feel good.

If you decide you will have a good labor and keep that thought; then you will have a good labor.

I had my hair, hands, and feet done. I was able to put on my best outfit too! But once they took my clothes and put me in a gown I was a regular pregnant lady! I lost two finger nails, and I was the only person seeing my fresh pedicure because they almost put my feet over my head and my crimps and a few of my hair extensions was gone! So don't waste your time honey! Go with braids and your own backless gown!
