I have listened to the song, watched the video, and read the lyrics. Is there something meaningful there or is it just a cheap attempt at using death to sell records?

If you mean the song "Welcome To The Black Parade" I don't know.

If you mean the entire CD, it's about a guy (the patient) who gets cancer and he has many regrets and he doesn't feel as though he's lived his life to it's fullest.

If you've never heard the whole cd, go get it. It's amazing.

It's not a cheap attempt. People who've never had someone close to them die don't realize the pain. Music is a form of expression for this.

i was a my chemical romance fan years ago, when "i brought you my bullets, you brought me your love" was coming out. back then, they were raw, explosive, and heartfelt. you could hear the emotion in gerard's voice. the songs ranged from slow and sensitive (early sunsets over monroeville) to hard, fast, and fun (vampires will never hurt you). they had edge.

now, the music they're putting out is crap. it's been watered down. the screams and energy have been replaced by poppy hooks, radio-friendly-sing-along choruses, and an mtv-friendly image. they have, in every sense of the phrase, sold out.

if you like the black parade, listen to IBYMBYBMYL. seriously. you'll realize i'm right.
