I started my 6 nd 1/2 months baby with solid food 2 weeks ago she was doing good at first.?

now she is very constipated, she cry a lot when doing it. I jus tnoticed her anal area is swelling. What can i give to her to help.

you can get prunes (baby food). i used to give my son 1 ounce of prune juice with 4 ounces of water when he was constipated. you should call her pediatrician also and see what they suggest.

She's only 6 1/2 months old! Do you know that babies need breast milk and nothing but breast milk for like 2yrs? (maybe 1.5 years) And the reason why is because babies can't handle other food yet, all the things they need is in breast milk. I also heard that babies who ate real food really young get allergies. So, I would go to a doctor to see what to do about the constipation and stop the solid foods.

It's probably irritation to the acid in the baby food or acid the stomach is producing for the breakdown of the baby food. I would just try to keep the bottom area as clean and dry as possible, and use a diaper rash cream or even vasoline to keep that area protected from the bm.

A teaspoon of Karo syrup in her bottle will help things out. If that doesn't work, there are infant suppositories, but you ony use about 1/2 of one and only insert for like 20 seconds.

I never started my baby with rice cereal bcoz I heard it causes constipation.
Give her oatmeal instead.Its great and will not constipate her.
Also get Gerber prunes and give it to her.Stop the rice cereal for the time being.

Call your doctor. Get her a suppository and try to get her bowels moving. It is better not to give babies food until much later because food can give them allergies and digestion problems; as you can see.
