Why does everybody think that Arabians are 'hot- headed' and 'crazy'? I think I know the reason why, but you guys tell me if you think otherwise. Okay, you all know about those Quarter Horses, how their owners and trainers ride them to death, drain blood out of them and train them to carry their heads so low that they probably can't ever move naturally again. Well, if you didn't know, now you do. So yes, compared to a QH that has had it's whole future ruined for a bunch of ribbons, I'd say an Arab does look fiesty. But then again, so does a turtle. Now don't get me wrong, there are many really nice QH's out there, and I used to ride them. But how come we never hear about them? How come people always accuse the Arab for being graceful and majestic? Just to state something, if it weren't for the Arabian, the would be no QH; there wouldn't be a lot of breeds. Nobody gives any horse a fair chance, I think, it is pretty much stereotypes.

I think many people aren't aware of how to handle them. I've got an eleven-year-old Arab gelding who came to me with all sorts of trouble, but I grew up with them so they're fairly simple for me. And they are actually know for their smooth trot. QHs are the ones that will bounce you out of the saddle. My Arab pastures with my grandfather's QH mare and she's really sweet, but I always love a challenge, so I'll stick with my Arabians. They have excellent endurance, they look stunning when you're riding them, and they are just naturally that way--there's no nitty-gritty training to get them to hold themselves correctly. They do that on their own.

I might under no circumstances get into the groove of Everybody Loves Raymond. I continuously felt it was once somewhat overvalued. Raymond was once a whiner and a complainer, natural and realistic. But the exhibit did have an excessively proficient forged. I pass with Everybody Hates Chris for the reason that I do revel in Chris Rock's narratives within the exhibit and his fingers on method has made probably the most positive application the UPN community ever had.

In my opinion, the arabian breed has been ruined...many have freakishly proportioned heads, and teeny, tiny legs with no bone, all for the sake of winning in the conformation ring. Just like QH, the arabians have suffered just to win ribbons. Foundation type arabs are much better creatures (and tend to be more sane) than their modern counterparts. Conformation arabs have had their good temperment bred out of them, making them flighty, spooky creatures. Lunging them with fire extinguishers to get more "fire" in them is cruel.
People have their preferences. Arab owners tend to only like arabs and accuse anyone who doesn't prefer that breed of being unable to handle them. A properly trained and exercised arab is a great horse.

You just stereotyped yourself so dont be acusing other people of doing the same. I ride Quarter horses and I trained him too. I never taught him to hold his head down he does it naturally. Its not because the horse is trained to hold their head down, its because they get so relaxed. If you get a new colt and are just around him a lot, does he get where he doesnt even look up from grazing when you walk out there? Its not because of training its natural for them. And as going so far to say that their heads are so low that they probably cant ever move naturally again! Thats false too. My horse performs better with his head down. He doesnt have to have his neck muscles stressed out when he runs or anything like other horses and he can run faster because of it. He can stretch his neck out to pull forward too. If your horse carries his head high he can only reach up. Get all your facts straight before you go talking bad about horses!

i hate to say but what some of what you are saying is wrong we dont put their heads down so low they cant move naturally most willingly carry thier heads low aslo thats only in WESTERN PLEASURE i trian barrels, western pleasure, and many other styles and i would definetly have to say your wrong. arabs are hot when not trianed properly yes that is a fact i would no this through bad experience but people say the same about throughbreds and you dont see anyone standing up for them i think its mostly inexperienned riders stating that arabs are highstrung yes compared to other breeds they are but have you not watched barrel racing those horses make arabs look like push buttons well some do any how

Arabians are my fave. I grew up on a farm, riding horses at the age I learned to walk. I used to show jump also, and I LOVE the arab. They have heart, AWESOME endurance, great personalities. I guess it's just what people know, or what they have seen, etc. People usually make judgements based on thier ignorance.
