Depends on where you are which state especially. There are walk in clinics that are privately owned so the cost varies a lot. Maybe even medicare can pay for it.
Also dont forget that depending on your doctors prescription, there might be several "views" of your knee, so be prepared for more than one film
Generally, the MRI costs more but the result is more definitive.

i just had a pelvice xray done in maine , and the cost was a little over 800 dollars no clue on MRI

Stop messing around and listen to your knee! You have done serious damage already. Contact a local sports medicine clinic and talk to the business office about how you can pay for competent care. You are going to end up permanently crippled if you continue to ignore your knee's calls for help!

mri's r very expensive , several hundred dollars xrays less so but the easiest way to find out is to call the company that would do the work and ask them.

MRIs are very expensive. $2,800-$3,200. (I just had one done a month ago)
Xrays are a couple hundred bucks.
