I just started playing the harmonica and i cant find any thing on how to hold the harmonica. Should the higher pitched sound be 1 or 10 and is 1 on the left or right?

It's not as easy as people think. You have to use your tongue to block some of the holes(no rude comments) to get a more pure sound. The lower notes are on your left, at least that is the way I hold it. Hold the harmonica on the left edge with your left hand. Cup your right hand around the harmonica loosely so you can 'fan ' the back of the harmonica to create a vibrato effect. Want to buy a guitar? on my harmonica the 1 is on my left. Also they are tuned to a certain key, mine is a 'c' harmonica, can get different keys. Really nice harmonicas have a slide to create minor chords (bluesy sounds )etc.

Hold it with your hands, or your feet if you're feeling flexible or crazy.
