The answer is D in general the solid state the molecules are more densely packed, but there are some exceptions such as water and some metal alloys that were used for making typefaces where the liquid is more denselly packed than the solid.

That must be solid..the ,molecules are closely packed due to high value of cohesive forces (interparticle forces) of attraction....examples include: copper, wood, steel, etc etc.
