For the past year, I have had this happen three times. Within the normal 28 days, I will have 2 or 3 full periods. I wll bleed for 5 days stop for a couple and start all over again. I have had 3 miscarriages, one being at 13 weeks. I have never carried a pregnancy to term, all ending by 13 weeks. Since my first pregnancy 7 years ago, my period and the days leading up to it have been very painful. I have severe cramps before and during. The last doctor I saw said I had stopped ovulating, which caused the multiple periods, but that doesn't seem right. Everything I read says that when you stop ovulating, you don't bleed. Can anyone help me?

I have also been trying to get pregnant for 3 1/2 years, with no luck. Both my mother and grandmother had to have total hysterectomy's by the age of 25 due to tumors.

you bleed because you ovulate and that triggers the thickening of your uterine walls (which become your menuses after no fertilization occurs) I went through a period of completely irregular periods but I was extremely stressed out all the time, diet also has an effect and your body just might not beable to regulate itself. My periods are very painfull as well, I am currently getting tested for endometriosis, which is where the linng of the uterus grows on the outside as well. If I were you I would get a second opinion.

Finally someone outside of my family with the same condition.
1. Ask your mom has she ever gone through the same thing.
2. Take time out for yourself and relax because sometimes stress can trigger your menstrual cycle.
3. This may sound strange, but ask your gynie if you have more than one set of working ovaries. Basically each set will have to release at each month.

I have come to realize that if a month has 31 days, there will be two cycles. If you are not satisfied with the responses from one doctor, then please seek help somewhere else.
