All signs point to yes, for a variety of reasons. He has a no-trade clause, and has said publicly several times that he has no intention of waiving it, he wants to stay on new york; to trade him the Yankees would have to pick up a large portion of that fat contract, and they will not get close to fair market value in return, and finally it just doesn't make sense to trade the all around best player in this era, a guy who will own numerous all time records when he finally hangs them up

Yes he will, most teams cannot handle his salary, the yankees won't trade him he is not only a great talent he is a marketing commodity for the team, A-Rod is a lot more than just homeruns and rbi's he can steal a base, is one of the best baserunners in the game, remeber before changing to third base he was a multiple Gold Glove winning SS so you know he has the tools to be great defensively and yes he had an off year but for a player of his talent and statute to run from NY because he had some problems will not be a good move. Simply stated A-Rod will be a man on a mission next year with the Yankees and he will work hard this off season to sharpen his game and you will see the BEST year A-Rod has ever had in 07'.

of course he will. if he gets traded or they let him go the Texas Rangers will no longer be responsible for paying part of the rest of his contract. the Yankees would have to take on about 67 million dollars in that case.
he has trade clauses anyway cause hes a 10 to 5 guy. really hes untouchable. not to mention its not JUST his fault the yankees choked and got stomped out by the Tigers. he'll be back next year and he'll be just as good if not better.
not a fan of A-rod, but as a baseball fan, i give credit where credit is due. and hes a great ball player. ego or not.

Yes, and he should be too.

People only hate him because of expectations.

If the yankees traded A-rod for Mike Lowell - straight up, both sets of fans would probably end up happy in the trade, because the sox would love the production, the yankees fans would expect great defense, and a average hitter and get that, and both sets of fans end up happy.

A-rod is staying and everyone knows it but the only one that might be leaving is Sheffield hes not happy he wants to be a free angent but the yankees have a different plan so most likely Sheffield might get traded well just have to see

I would say yes only because the Yankees will ask for the moon for him. His money wouldn't scare me since the Rangers are still responsible for 10 million a year through this contract from the trade for Soriano.

According to many sources, Brian Cashman wants and intends to keep Alex Rodriguez on the Yankees next season.
