How much money should we spend? How many troops should we send?
How many can die before we "cut and run" like we did in Somalia?

Would you back the President if he sent troops?

On October 13, US President George W. Bush imposed further sanctions against those deemed complicit in the Darfur atrocities under the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act of 2006. The measures were said to strengthen existing sanctions by prohibiting US citizens from engaging in oil-related transactions with Sudan (although US companies were prohibited from doing any business with Sudan since 1997), freezing the assets of complicit parties and denying them entry to the US

... I think we should send in some troops... and who was crying about cutting and running in Somalia and Kosovo? Republicans maybe if you remember?

I would back the president... it's genocide 10 times what Saddam has done in the past 10 years, if you keep up with either situation...

Darfur also has quite a few terrorist links... and that's a bit more than Iraq ever had...

Why is it the problem of the US to fix Darfur? Why don't all of the 53 countries that make up Africa fix their own problems? Surely between 53 countries they can help their own people? What are these African countries actually doing to fix the Darfur problem besides asking the UN to step in?

Well I guess I'm racist for saying that now, aren't I?

Besides America has other issues of its own to sort out: Afghanistan and Iraq for example.

Actually I think we should tell the civilized world that the US is a little busy right now, dealing with Afghanistan and Iraq, and that maybe they should step up and resolve the Darfur crisis instead of sitting on their asses waiting for the USA to handle it.

we do need to step in because right now we are just observing what is going on and not really acting, while so many are dying. kind of like during WWII when Hitler was committing genocide against the Jews, it took years for the US to finally intervene, and it was pretty much because we were attacked by Japan at pearl harbor. Standing by and watching is just as bad as committing the crimes themselves. We should do something to help these people! Just my thoughts :)
