We've only lived here for a few months and there were ants before we moved in. They have come and treated 2 times and nothing. We have bought our own stuff and nothing. We are fed up and want to know if we can break our lease w/out penalty since the apts have not yet fixed the problem. Also what is a good website about Texas renters rights?

It seems that if they make a continued effort to fix the problem that is not a breach of your lease contract. If they discontinue attempts at treatment, that could be a breach. I suggest you have a conversation with your landlord about a mutual agreement to end your lease due to the problem. If they are not willing to do that, let them know they will need to effectively treat the problem in a timely manner or you will call the Health Department and break your lease due to lack of proper maintenance.

No darlin I by no means did and than the owner could get a fast boot within the @ss for that b/s. If I lived in a intricate with rats, I'd begin killing em with a pellet gun and putting off them considering that I recognise greater than to feel a landlord is particularly gonna care.

You could request another apartment. They should accomodate you. If not then you can request to break your lease. Save reciepts and show apt. manager let them know problem still exsists and you are not happy. Good luck.

Stop trying to do everything online. Get up and get over to your nearest office of your local Housing Authority and see what they have to say on the matter.
