I can't stand it! There is no "c" in negotiate so it should be pronounced nee-go-she-ate and not nee-go-see-ate.

These are the same buffoons that pronounce the "t" in "often"! Do you pronounce it in "soften"? NO YOU IDIOT!

Sorry...

What part of the world are you from?
Why is it that New Englanders drop the letter "r" from most everything? Example: "Go pak the caa."
I was in Boston some years back, went to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers in Worchester. Guess how to pronounce that town. It is like Wista. Where did all the letters go? So what is wrong with those people?

Wow, you worry about this?
In case you didn't notice, there's not a very close relationship between the way words are spelled and the way they are pronounced in English.
Also, surely you have noticed that different dialects of English have different ways of pronouncing certain words.
I worry that your life would be miserable if you decided to be the pronunciation police. And, by the way, I have never heard anyone complain, ever, about the same thing this question is talking about. And I'm a linguist.

Why does W say "nucular"?
Regional variations and dialects, pal. Might as well get used to it.
As long as you get what they're trying to say, why get so upset if they say it slightly differently than you do?
