If I were you, I would cancel that appointment, STOP smoking, wait 30 days and then make another appt. They call it child endangerment nowdays and you dont want trouble. Eat right, sleep lots, take vitamins, and dont worry, women used to have healthy children before doctors were even invented. I expect lots of 'thumbs down' for my answer, and you can do whatever you think is best, but you can avoid the problem by waiting 30 days.
Don't bother trying one of those pee-test passing drinks, they can detect those now too.

well, it's better than drinking thoughout a pregnancy I suppose.
I will NOT judge you, here's some info.
You can change doctors if you feel that they may test you, as my friend who's due next week did.
She doesn't smoke, but the doctor she picked was also treating medi. ppl and decided that his policy was to check every women for drugs. Since she has her own insurance she felt that he was pigeon holing her for no reason and after the first visit, declined his assistance.
She did not appreciate being generalized as a drug addict for simply going to his office. She mistakenly picked his office b/c it was close to her home and now has the best doctor.
You may decide to be honest with your doctor and say you have smoked weed, but stopped since you have found out you are expecting, which I'm sure you have.
good luck!

At your first prenatal visit, you will fill out a very long questionnaire. It will ask you questions about your present and past. When it asks you about drugs, lie. They only test you if you answer that you smoked it in the past. Just fill it out as if you have never tried *ANY* recreational drugs. I was also a habitual pot smoker before my pregnancy. I actually stopped before I got pregnant, but if I had answered yes to those questions, they would have drug tested me. I simply didn't feel it was any of their business, and knew it had no bearing on my pregnancy or baby's health, since I wasn't doing it anymore. Good luck and congrats!

As long as you are of legal smoking age, and have stopped, you shouldn't have to worry about being reported. They won't do a drug test unless you ask for one. However, make sure you have stopped and don't start again. Second hand smoke is just as deadly and will cause permanent damage to babies and children after they are born. Use this time as a good incentive to stop and be healthy for the rest of your life. Good Luck and best wishes!

No, they wont do a routine drug test at your appt. They may want to draw blood for other reasons, but not drugs. But they may well do a drug test on the baby when it it born. The important thing is that you do not smoke or drink or do any other kind of drug while you are pregnant. And now that you are going to be a mom, think about why kind of example you want to set for your child in regards to drug use.

You don't get drug tested until delivery. If you test positive at delivery - you will see THC on the paperwork you sign. They don't send your placenta to any testing center - they piss test you. They do it because people lie - and they need to know what the real story is for the best delivery plus for records in case you sue the hospital. They probably turn in statistics to a database - but I do not believe that they send results to the police (patient confidentiality - plus medical only reports felonies).
Don't be scared because stress isn't good for you - and stay off pot while pregnant. While pot doesn't cause any birth defects, it contributes to low birth weight just like smoking cigs.
Good luck and congratulations

They don't drug test like that. Once you have your doctor I would tell them about it though. You can't get in trouble because of doctor patient confidentially. You want to be completely honest with your doctor so if any issues come up they know what's going on. Please don't smoke any more until after the baby is born. Congratulations! Enjoy this special time, it's like a really cool roller coaster ride. Kind of scary but very exciting!

They won't drug test you but they will check your hormone levels to confirm your pregnancy. When they ask about drugs be honest and say that you had smoked it and you quit for your baby. Doctors are obligated to drug test a mother and or new baby upon delivery if they have a suspicion that the mother abused drugs (usually meth, coke, heroin, etc) during her pregnancy and it caused severe damage with the baby. With quitting right now and being totally honest with your doctor you will be just fine. Congratulations!!

First off stop smoking...second of all they will have you pee in a cup at the OB, but they won't test for drugs unless they have your approval. If you are still apprehensive, then re-schedule. Third off...for the sake of your health and the babys you have to tell the truth at the dr's. If they ask you if you've ever smoked...just be honest. It may save your life or your babys.

In the state of CA yes they do drug test EVERY prenatal visit made. Also check for alcohol. If you're lucky the social worker while talk with you and discuss making sure you drop your THC levels because of testing. When you sign your prenatal papers for treatment they are allowed to do whatever they want with your urine once you have and you will need to give them your sample. They will check for HcG levels also.
