Just do little bits at a time. And work on getting rid of clutter and junk that you don't need. The less stuff you have, the easier it is to keep your house clean. Something I do everyday is to wipe down the bathroom and swish the toilet when I'm done getting ready in the morning. It only takes a minute, and then your bathroom is sparkling clean, and it never gets yucky like if you leave it for too long. If you just do little tasks here and there it will never get to the point where everything is overwhelming. Like, say you have 10 minutes to spare before you have to go somewhere...get out your duster and dust your main living area, and bedroom if you have time. Or quickly run the vacuum around the living room while dinner is baking in the oven. The secret is not to let things pile up and be a big task. Just little bits here and there makes a big difference. Invite your friends around for a clean-up party, tell them its the thing to do nowadays and after a while, as everyone is cleaning, make an excuse e.g need some more polish. Then go to the pub for a couple and when you get back home everythings clean and tidy. It does work but you will find you change friends alot.

Every day do small cleaning tasks such as clean the table and counter, sweep floor. Each day if you do small cleaning tasks then you won't have to worry about saving one day cleaning your house for hours. Also use the "clean as you go" method which means when you are walking through your house, you can straighten furniture, pick up stuff from the floor etc. It only takes a few minutes and you were going that way anyways.

Also baby wipes clean almost everything....I used them to clean my fridge, counters, bathroom sink etc. They are cheap and you will love them once you try them. They also clean bird cages wonderfully!!!

If you live alone, there's nothing much you can do. If you live with people who don't help you---- well, I'm afraid you have set a dangerous precedent, and that the lazy slobs will never help.
I would throw into the garbage all newspapers and junk.
If people leave their crap around, pick it up, stash it and charge them money to get it back. They still won't help, but at least you will get paid for being the maid.

keep tidying it.

get a partner and let them do it.

forget about until you can't walk on the floor, sleep on the bed, use the dishes, then do a massive clean and then you can be lazy for another while.

everytime you use something, clean it and put it away, dust and hoover for 5 min every morning, iron after you have dried the clothes then put them away, put bleach down the toilet every night and hey presto - a tidy house.

you have to make a mental list of what to do and dont let anyone distract you just stop every half hour for a cuppa but the quicker you get it done the quicker you can go out and not hav to worry about it on the way home.the best advice i can give is to not let it build up or the thought of it will depress you and it will never get done and it will turn into a vicious circle, and wait til you have kids!!

good luck, once you have done yours you can come do mine of you like.lol

i think you leave things too long between cleaning ok for example when you got up tham make your bed right away don't think that you are going to come back and make it Never happen, than wipe the table after you finish using it, put your dirty dishes in the dishwhasher, wipe the sink after used if you clean up as you go it will never pile up and too much work , good luck
