A lot of the newer machines have a great sound system already built in, capable of handling 2.1 and 5.1 Surround Sound. It comes already built in and can only be changed by purchasing a separate sound card from your nearest computer store. Creative Sound Blaster has some great cards capable of 7.1 Surround Sound and a ton of other features for around $49-$79. Larry @ RadioShack

Hi. A sound card MAY fix your problem but first I would try setting you volume control. In Windows XP it is found at "Start> All programs> Accessories> Entertainment> Volume control". Just play with these until you understand how they work. There is a freeware program called ' Quickmix " that you can find on the web that will save each group of settings.

you will in easy terms be conscious the version while you're fairly into music. the main element of having a seperate sound card is to loose processing skill so as that video games bypass swifter. while you're doing recording that ought to be yet one extra reason.

Sound quality will always be better with a card that you buy separately.
