google search question...?

when you start to type a word in google search it brings up a list of previous sites that begin with the first few letters- a bit like predictive text - how do you clear/turn off this function?
ps i have an apple mac

i had the same thing going on with me. if you have a google toolbar, like me, i'll explain it in that way. on the right, there's a button that says Settings, there's a small arrow by it. Cilck that arrow and click on Options. When you click that, click on Search Box Settings and Uncheck Suggest Suggestions from my Search History.. That will usually solve it
