3.671 is 1/1000 greater than 3.67.
you can go to:
http://www.homeschoolmath.net/teaching/d/compare-decimals.php
Decimals are compared in exactly the same way as other numbers: by comparing the different
place values from left to right. To help in that, you can write the two numbers into the place
value tables on top of each other. Then compare the different place values in the two numbers
from left to right, starting from the biggest place value.
Tip: It is easier to compare if the numbers have the same amount of decimals. You can tag a zero (or zeros) to the end of the number with less decimals.

saying it in words.
3.671 is greater than 3.67
x > y --> x is greater than y [x and y is any number (x>y duh)]
we have the signs <, >
these signs can mean the exact same thing just depending on ehich side you write the answer.
on both sign if u write your answer on the side with two lines, u are claming that this is the larger number, and the number next to the single line (where the lines meet) is the smaller number.
so lets take the numbers 5 and 10, we know 10 is greater then 5, and thus, 5 is smaller than 10.
so,,,
10>5 [read as 10 is greater as 5]
5<10 [read as 5 is smaller than 10]
above is explaining what > and < mean.
if you are confsed about what number is bigger, 3.67 or 3.671, read below.
lets take the number line 1-2-3-4
obvisusly 2>1, 3>2, 4>3
now, 3.5>3 right ? or we can write this as 3.5 > 3.0
this is tricky, u must know that 3.5000000000 (is not [three point 5million thousand], instead it is just [five])
so, we have 3.67 and 3.671
or we can write this as 3.670 and 3.671, from this it is obviouse to see that 3.671 is larger than 3.670
if u are still stuck on future problems you could always use ur calculater to check anything,, such as,, lets take ur 2 numbers (3.67 and 3.671) punch it in your calculator and take away ur first number from your second number. if u get a negative result then u know u placed the smaller number first, if you get a possitiv number, then you know you placed the larger number first.

3.67 has two digits after the decimal point
3.671 has three digits after the decimal point
Lets make both have the same amount of digets after the decimal point, so we will add a zero to 3.67 this won't change its value. Now can you tell which one is bigger ?
3.670 or 3.671
I hope this helps.
3.67 < 3.671 Alligator wants to eat the 3.671, so 3.67 is less than 3.671
3.671 > 3.67 Alligator wants to eat the 3.671 , so 3.671 is greater than 3.67

3.671 > 3.67
You could think of it this way...
3.67 = 3.670
You can put as many zeroes to the right of the last digit as you'd like to and never change the value. Keeping that rule in mind...
3.67 = 3.670
1 > 0
3.671 > 3.670

Lol, i learnt this in P3, its silly, but it worked for me.
Think of the < or > as a crocodile: and cos crocs are greedy its always eating up the bigger number. Since 3.672 is the bigger number, you put:
3.67 < 3.671 or
3.671 > 3.67. both are right. Hope it helps!

3.671 is greater (<) because everything after the 7 in 3.67 is assumed to be 0's so therefore you have
3.670 (0 in the thousandths place) and
3.671 (1 in the thousandths place)
And we all know that 1 is greater then 0

3.67 could have an infinite number of zero after it
Ex. 3.6700000000=3.67
and still be the same
SO
3.670
3.671
3.671 > 3.67 by 1/1,000
