I did horrible on a Math test. I've been reviewing my work all week and studied for so long..and I still did bad. This gave me a major confidence blow because I've worked so hard for a good mark and I still did bad. Can someone please help...I feel like I should give up completely and just get bad marks with low expectations rather than recieve a bad mark with good expectations...What should I do? Anyone ever felt this way before? What did you do?

All you can do is try harder,
sorry
we've all been in your shoes
ever heard the expression, when you all off the horse, get up and get back on.
true learning comes from making mistakes, for some reason the lesson is absorbed better.
better luck next time, and the time after that
learning something new is always hard
study study study

hi, i'm a high school student and i can relate to how you feel. I get really upset if i studied hard and still get a bad mark. But I still try to study harder for my next test and still try and keep up my good grades. It's better to have one bad mark, and have good expectations, then just slack off and fail the class. At least you know that your working hard to try to get a good mark. You shouldn't lose your confidence on one test gone wrong. I hope my opinion helps you! :)

I've never let blows like this (and I've certainly had them, even on math tests and math is my specialty) force me to adjust my expectations. Instead, it's important to use these experiences to learn how to be more successful in the future, whether it's for another math test or something else. That's where you should start. Why did you do badly? Was it due to stressing out during the test, thereby preventing your knowledge from emerging? Or did the test itself reveal some deficiency in your studying, such as types of problems overlooked or not enough practice to help you be fast enough on the test?

You're going to have so many challenges in your life, with much higher stakes, so it's important to learn how to handle setbacks like this constructively or you'll set yourself up for a life that's much less than what you could have.

I'm dealing with it right now. I got a 63 on a test i was sure i would get an A on...
i went over my test and REaLLy only got four wrong, all the others were really stupid mistakes [e.g. writing 12 insted on 21] so im really p/o`ed with myself right now. All i can say is check over you work HARD on the next test. I have another test on Monday, and I am determined to get an A. I think that motavation and self-confidence is really all you can do for yourself at this piont. Talk to your teacher, maybe s/he may be able to help you bring your grade up.
Good Luck!

well, that hapopened to me last year, in 8th grade when i took algebra 1 honors
i constanly failed my tests and quizes, even though i studied for hours at a time
in the end i got a "c"(which REALLY bummed be out, because i have never gotten a c before, like EVER)
so, the summer before my freshman year(this past summer), i retook the class, at a regular level, and i got an "A+" both semesters

so, ummm...in terms of studying, i can't help you
but just keep working harder, and harder, and maybe one day, you'll understand it, like i did

good luck!
