They are only smart because of how their education structure is set up for the schools, if it wasn't for that structure and the long history of working together as a group to accomplish a task they wouldn't be no more smarter than anybody.

Everyone perceives him/herself in any race, I believe, as smart. Are Japanese smarter? Which side of the coin are you on? If you're in their population, you answer, "yes". If you've been hurt in some way in the past (ie:W W II or through a business transaction), it may be debatable in your eyes.

Hey guy,
That's what I would call a racial or ethnic assumption, and that's not a cool thing. Now, it MIGHT be true that Japanese families put a lot of attention and pressure on their kids to do well in school. But, that's not all Japanese and that doesn't necessarily mean that they are ALL smarter. But generally, if your parents pressure you to do well, and you want to do well, you do!

No, I wouldn't say they're smarter than others, but I think they're more disciplined than we are. Us North Americans are just damned lazy! lol

My husband is Japanese/American and he's real smart about alot of things.

Yes. They are very smart in math and science. Those are the only two subjects they are good in. But they excel above all others in those subjects.
