Im goin to 11th grade next year adn i have played football since 7th grade. Im 5 foot 11 and 175 lbs. my coach is a **** and only lets his kid and his friends play in the games. i did line till 9th then i switched to middle backer and Full. my body has severly changed since the last 4 years i went from short and fat to mid height and muscular. i can run the 40 in 5 flat. i can bench 200 and my mile time is 5:59. i have great hittin power and i can break tackles easy. i just have a little trouble revievin the handoffs any ideas.im switchin schools and i was jus wonderin if anyone thought it was a good idea if i tried out for tail back.

I think that would be a good idea... Also, it couldn't hurt to practice receiving the hand-off... Maybe get a friend to go out one day and just practice that for a few hours...

I dont think that tailback is the right position for you if you are only running a 5 flat 40. On my high school team the tailbacks were all about a 4.6 or better. Reciever you need to be about the same. If you can bring the pain, you could be go for outside linebacker, it doesnt sound like you are big enough to go for middle backer. To make yourself a better candidate for backer you want to hit the weightroom hard so you can get that bench up. However, if you do want to play running back, you just need to work on your speed and strength as much as possible. you can get away with being a little slower if you are a bruiser back. Just get stronger and faster and the coach will find a place for you to play.

If your hands are good, you might want to try wide reciever because you say your fast and you can break tackles. On defense safety sounds like a good fit because you can hit and your fast enough to help corners in coverage.

you need to get faster to be sure of getting a shot at tb at that size, and you should def get bigger, another 20+ pounds. if you can add that weight and stay that fast or faster, you should have a shot at either tailback or fullback, and either linebacker or saftey
