Your best bet might be to look for colleges offering a combined degree in American Studies and Econ/Business - American Studies degrees usually have a year or semester abroad, and you'll be guaranteed a place, so you won't have to compete.
The University of Manchester has a degree in International Management with American Business Studies that offers a year in the USA, and the University of Birmingham offers a degree in Intl Business with a year abroad that can be spent in the USA.

Of the other top 10 universities for Economics/Business - Bath and Edinburgh both offer the opportunity to do an exchange programme in the US, and Nottingham has opportunities to study in Canada and possibly the US.

Good luck, it's a great experience - study abroad at Wharton if you can! ;)

1. This depends on where are you living right now and what is the status/weight of you passport.
2. If you are living in UK, you do not have to worry about exchange programm with US universities so I guess you are not a British Citizen.
3. If you are not a British Citizen, why do you want to pay at least 7000 pound tuition fees and at least 5000 pounds living cost per year?
4. You can go to Malaysia, study there for one year in around 6000 US$ and than take transfer to US or UK or Australia or Switzerland !!

London School of Economics. It is really hard to get in and ultra competitive.
