me, it's great. it actually lets you see what you are giving to the person unlike most were you are blindly giving money, great charity!

I don't know about cool but it falls into the "give a man a fish or teach a man to fish" philosophy that actually works.

It's a great program. For several years before her death, my mother asked that we "buy" her animals to donate from there.
