i have obtained a bachelors degree at the univ of texas, and im looking to go to medical school overseas! but every where i turn seems like i am getting nowhere. i am fluent in english, spanish and portuguese. please help me with any info you have!!

The problem here is that unless you want to wind up practicing medicine in that other country, you're going to have to do a lot of study here, even if you do earn a degree overseas. Unlike, say, philosophy, history, or literature, foreign medical degrees are usually not recognized in the US. So if you like practicing medicine in Mexico or, I don't know, Australia, go for it. You should be able to take their entrance exams and, with a little luck on the immigration issues, enroll overseas. But as very few Americans want to do this, there aren't many programs out there to help you with this.

I don't think that is such a good idea. If you go overseas and receive any kind of degree you will have to have all your coursework validated by an accredited university here. Whatever they do not give you credit for you will have to re-take at your own expense. That goes for any other curriculum I know, so chances are med school is no different. unless there is some sort of agreement between your current college and wherever you go. Also, you will still have to take the Boards, but will not have the benefit of the reviews given during your college classes.

Allegedly, one of the best med schools in the world is in Guadalajara, Mexico. It is very competitive to get into that school, so do you really think you can get in over the finest med candidates in Mexico? If so, fire away.
