I don't know how many times I hear this very same problem from other couples I know. After many years together, it seems inevitable that you lose some of the excitement, especially in the garden.
Don't worry, though. There are things you can do to get the enjoyment back. You could introduce some toys and tools. Have you thought of a hand shovel or a trowel? I have known some couples that try something new to spice things up. Oregano and basil are both easy to grow and quite fun, if you know what I mean.
And you can try new things in the garden. Maybe set it up differently. I always had my squash in front of her melons, but now we changed positions and it is quite fun. If it is always new, you might not even mind having to replant every year.
It is also possible that people get in the mood to garden while their partner is not. In my relationships, I have been willing to garden because my partner is in the mood, not myself. I mean there are just sometimes when it is cold, or you just don't feel like spraying for aphids. But you can still help with out actually planting any seeds. Try shopping for flower bulbs together. Or simply water her flowers. There are times when my girlfriend wasn't really in the mood to garden but she still helped me plant my cucumbers. And you might even find yourself having so much fun you end up planting the whole thing.
I know some people that try fertilizer to help keep their garden from dying, but that just isn't my thing. So I recommend you stick with what you like.

She appreciates your help in the garden and shows that by washing your clothes, cooking your meals, cleaning the house, etc.
So why not try and put some spark back into gardening?
Try chasing her around the yard with a live frog, or worm?
My dad used our snapping turtle they caught together in the desert.
She may get the hint, throw a little dirt or push you over while you are stooped over planting a flower.
But be prepared.
Have a little place where you have a blanket, some fruit, cheese, wine and glasses there so when this turns into a chase, you can lead her there for a romantic afternoon

lol....still funny. Are you runnin' outta material? I've seen some copycats of yours out there.
This looks like an actual question, so I thought I'd give you a legitimate answer....lol.
Why bother? For real? I think some folks enjoy the gardening for the pleasure of arranging, selecting flowers, planting, nurturing and then watching to see how things turn out.

Plant perennials instead of annuals. Or offer to mow the yard while she works on the flowers - period. When she wants to work on the garden, find something else to do, even if that means dishes or cleaning the bathroom.

It is not the act of planting that is the major concern, it is spending the quality time together that matters. Maybe you should find a new activity that the both of you can enjoy together.
