I suspect my eldest son is visiting inappropriate internet pages and deleting the internet explorer history to cover his tracks. Our operating system is Windows XP. Is there anyway I can view or recover the deleted folder to find out what he is viewing. My wife and I feel that if we know what he is trying to hide (gambling, drugs, etc) we will be in a better place to discuss it with him.

check to see if he's deleting the files and cookies in the temporary internet folder. These locations are under "Tools" and then "Internet Options". Also try to type the first letter of the site you think he's visiting in the address bar if you have the auto fill feature you'll be able to see a list of sites visited that begins with that letter or number. If nothing els buy the software that blocks these sites and password enable them.

Hey.... how do we know your not the kid????

I think you can go into your temporary internet files and see what he has visited based on that. Sometimes people will delete the history and not the internet files. At least on my computer, I can still clear out my history but every site visited is still in the temp internet folder.

If he is deleting the history then there must be something going on. Tell him NOT to delete history anymore...there are such software programs that track websites and keywords so that you can track him and all his sites. Normally though, people don't just delet history ALL the time for no good reason.

Press "Tools", then press "Internet Options" and press "Clear History". In that way you can delete all the visited sites from the address bar of your computer.

there is no way if history is deleted !

if you want to track someone's visited pages
you can use a spy-logging program that is password protected and there is no way to delete the logs there .
