Do you think that caning, as it is in Singapore or birching as it was in the Isle of Mann, Should be part of the legal system? What crimes should be punished in this way? Should there also be prison time on top of the corporal punishment?

you know what , just tar and feather like in the old days , or better yet just a hanging will do , or off with your head...corporal punishment yeah,,,

No, because who's to say where 'corporal punishment' stops and torture begins. Also, this would make pardoning someone who was later found innocent of a crime like murder (I believe the preferred punishment method is beheading) awful hard to pardon. It would make it easier for people's rights to be violated, especially with cases of profiling due to race, sex or religion. Have you ever stolen anything in your life? Like to be missing a hand or two, or feet, or (if you can manage to steal without limbs), your head? I'm not pro-crime, but I AM pro-human rights.

no. there are plenty of abusive corrections officers as it is.
