Contact your local Rotary group. They are in the phone book. The exchange with them is fabulous and FREE! You only have to pay airfare and the families actually give you a weekly allowance.
Check into it NOW if you want to go next school year!

AFS or American Field Service is a great foreign exchange program for those who would like to go overseas for a short period of time or up to a year. My folks have had at least six "AFS" exchange students over the past twenty years. It is a great experience to be a host family as well as to be in a host family. Check into it.

Contact the NASSP (National association of Secondary Schools) for a list of approved organizations. Besides ASF and Rotary International (already mentionned) there are YFU, the Friendship Connection and many more. Your high school counselor receives many mailings and has a lot of information. A high school world language teacher may also receive the mailings and could help as well.

If you are in high school I would ask a guidence counsler. If in college there should be an international program. And then still if you can not find it. There is a book called volunteer vacations which is extremely helpful getting over seas.
