My baby is 7 months old, she began solids just a month ago, but for the past few days, she hasn't been wanting to eat her milk too well. Now, I had a schedule, where she had her first feeding at 6a.m., 5 ounces, at 9a.m. her cereal with some gerber fruits, around noon, 5 ounces of milk, 3p.m. cereal with some veggies, and around 6 or 7p.m. 5 ounces of milk again, and then she would go to sleep after that for almost the whole night, maybe wake up around midnight or 2a.m. for a bottle...but I feel I am doing something wrong now...what's a good schedule, she isn't taking in her bottles like before and I feel so bad, I need help! Is she getting enough to eat? She was weighed 2 weeks ago, and is actually at a little TOO perfect weight...she is healthy. HELP!!!

if her last weight check, she was fine, dont worry. children of all ages will eat when they are hungry. as long as shes eating something and drinking some milk she will be fine. babies go through growth spurts where they will eat alot and sleep alot, and then they slow down. stop eating so much and sleeping less. as long as shes consuming something and seems otherwise healthy, dont worry. if you still worry, ask her pediatrician.

She might be having difficulty digesting the food. I would take her off the food and just give the formula. When you start giving a child food it can become a huge problem in that the child my be allergic to the food or have digestive problems from the food. Did you doctor tell you to give her food?

I don't know about schedules because I usually fed my baby on the demand theory. I think expecting to keep a baby on a schedule is a lot of work and can lead to apprehension, such as you are experiencing now. I mean if she is hungry or thirsty then give her something - don't wait for the scheduled time.

The first child is the most exasperating because you are new to parenting and also everyone wants to tell you their theory of what to do. Relax but be sure she is not ill. If she starts to dehydrate call the doctor immediately.

When a baby is starting to dehydrate either from not drinking or by diarreah, you can have fantastic results by giving the child Pedialyte from the drug store - it comes in powder or little sterile bottles. Ask you pharmacist.

Children can dehydrate and die very quickly: you do not want to leave anything unattended.

Solids are more filling than milk..and tastier too! Don't worry, no schedule needed, your baby will let you know when he/she is hungry!
I worried so much about my first daughter being on schedule that neither one of us was very happy..by the time my seventh child arrived, I learned they go through stages, one of my daughters went through a green stage, she would only eat green foods, it's all okay as long as they are getting what they need!
If you have a problem where they stop eating at all...or won't sleep then you might need some help, but sounds like your baby is just learning what his likes and dislikes are and milk is not at the top of his food chain!

I don't think she's hungry. Solids are more filling than just plain milk. She's eating the solids now and it's taking up more room in her stomach. Also, solids take longer to digest which means they stay in her stomach longer.

I'd say to help this:

Give her the same amount of bottles, just put less in them. Maybe give her just a bit less at every meal (even when she gets fruits and veggies, cut back a little bit). This will help even out everything.

Your baby is getting less formula than recomended.
At this age she does not get a lot of nutrients from solids so do cut back on the solids and increase the amount of milk.
She should be getting atleast 24 ounces of milk. Give her small quantities of solids and try to incease the amount of milk to 6-7 oz.The solids is filling her up .
What i do is , give my daughter her formula first and then after 2 hrs I giver her solid food .
This way she gets her full share of formula and solids.
All the best !

First, as long as she is healthy and gaining the "correct" amount of weight, don't panic. I'm not a doctor, but both my kids are healthy and happy.
When I fed them, I would always offer a bottle first; before offering cereal, fruits or veggies. As they got older, I would cut back on the ounces in the bottle and increase the solid food.
Trust youself, you are doing fine.

First, you should have stopped that midnight feed a long time ago.... your schedule seems fine. My little one did the same thing once he started solids, so i substituted his milk for cereal ( upon his pediatrician's advise). Talk to your pediatrician and ask what you should do.

Good luck

i think youe schedule was fine but trying just letting her wake on her own in the morning, maybe she's not hungry that early in the morning. try letting her wake on her own then go about the rest normally.
