Good point. I think their priorities are confused, but then again germs are everywhere. But that'd be like saying "I'm just going to get dirty again, why shower?" and that's totally unacceptable. Yet it does seem to happen often in public areas. I usually do think to myself wow I'm glad I don't have to shake his hand. It probably should be a requirement. Stalls with their own individual sinks next door, and the door doesn't open until they're clean. Let me explain. The first stall door is the bathroom, completely private and secluded, after the toilet flushes you go to the next stall portion which is a hand washing station with an attendant who has a button to the next door and doesn't open until your hands are washed, or a person in a room somewhere with camera access to the handwashing station who opens the door after they view them washing their hands, then that doors opens via the button, they can dry their hands and leave at will. All bathroom doors should also be automatic, to prevent the spread of germs from doors and doorhandles.

Over 90% of women who wash their hands after using the public restroom only rinse their hands under water, they don't use soap. Based on my own observations for the based 20yrs+, I say the number of non-soap users is close to 100%. I ALWAYS use soap. Rinsing hands under water without using soap accomplishes nothing, soap is needed to kill germs.
GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
USE A PAPER TOWEL TO OPEN THE DOOR. NEVER TOUCH WITH YOUR BARE HANDS
Al. You are either very stupid or blind. I have eyes. When I am at the sink WASHING MY HANDS USING SOAP I notice what other women are doing around me, they are not using soap!!! In addition, many times I have to wait in long line-ups to use the toilet. I watch other people while I am waiting for an unoccupied toilet. What else is there to do? It is extremely boring standing around waiting for an unoccupied cubicle. Haven't you ever heard of a line-up at the womens washroom before??
Sometimes I have to hang around the washroom waiting for a friend or family member to finish their duty, and we leave the washroom together.
It's not the complicated, I observe with my own eyes while I am washing CORRECTLY or while I am standing in line. You would be able to figure that out if you were not so stupid. You must be one of the non-soap users. Think before you ask such obvious, ridiculous questions. In addition, why are you comparing using a PUBLIC RESTROOM to observing sexual acts between consenting adults? The topic is washing hands, not sex. Keep your mind out of the gutter. BTW, it's none of my business why you pick your nose. We are not talking about your nose picking habits.

I'm with you on this one. I have been in the Food and Bev.
Industry for many many years, and i have seen some nasty
stuff. To include watching employees go to the restroom
and knowing they did not wash their hands.Oh NASTY.
There needs to be some kind of punishment for that. There
needs to be a HUGE bell that rings everywhere, when a person
goes to the restroom and then the sink is not used. Surely there
is something that can be done.To many germs being spread.

Have you noticed in Tesco stores that the toilets are just at the entrance to the store and the fruit and veg are the first thing people go to when they get inside. I have come out of the toilets frequently behind people who I have seen leave without washing their hands and immediately handle all our fruits etc...!!! I think we should be made to wear those fine plastic gloves that garages provide while we select foods from the store.

People are usually in a hurry and forget. Most public restrooms have signs reminding people to wash their hands. I work in a fast food restaurant and even though we wash our hands when returning to the food prep area we always wash our hands in the bathroom as well, just so someone doesn't freak out about employees not being clean.

I think it's yucky my mother doesn't wash her hands after she uses the bathroom and she also just grabs a handful of dogfood (with her bare hand) to put in the dog dish and then she wants to touch our food and make us dinner. While I'm sure the heat kills the germs that is still gross and I tribute my slender frame to years of rejecting her dinners. I appreciate her cooking for us, but please, help me by not helping me. I often wonder what punishment would be good, I think there should be someone hired to slap people who want to leave the restroom without washing. Good investment.

Anyone who does not wash their hands after using restrooms are just asking for trouble. It can cause illness, and if you prepare food without washing your hands, you can spread all kinds of nasty stuff to other persons. It is discusting to say the least. People that don't are selfish and uncaring in my opinion. We always wash our hands - if we have to use a public restroom, we carry handwipes with us - we are never, ever without them. After we wash our hands, you still have to touch the doorknobs to get out of the bathroom, so when we come out, we use handwipes. Just imagine, washing your hands, then toucking the doorknob behind a person who nine times out of ten did not wash theirs and touched the doorknob before you. Yuck. We never go anywhere without handwipes. It is my thought that some people just plain do not give a darn weather they wash or weather they spread their nice little germs to other innocent people. So be nice, always wash your hands.

I agree it's pretty nasty but how do you girls know which men do and don't, especially in public loos.FWIW I used to work in a hospital and in the ground floor loos-someone presumably female poohed on the floor just inside the door of the female loos.
For sure the answer is a thumbs down to those who don't wash their hands IMO.

Here's another thought... Wash your hands before you go. You know where you've been, but what about the person before you? What did they touch before they used the restroom? As in, who touched the knob before you, and then where did you put your hand after you touched that knob before you washed your hands when you were done? Bottom line, wash your hands before and after.
As for my thoughts on people who don't... EWWW!!! People need to have some respect for others. Who wants to be subjected to it themselves, so why do that to someone else?
