I heard that if you get in the top 10% of your class in high school, any state college will automatically accept you reguardless of your act/sat score. is this true?

Yes, this is absolutely true. And not only top 10%, but top ten people. Even if your graduating class has only 15 people in it. This happened to one of my best friends. Lucky her.

Universities are looking for a holistic person, someone that is good in school, AND extracurriculars, AND someone that helps their own community.
