type O universal donor! because does not have any antigens any blood type cell will recognize it and will not destroy it in a blood transfusion.

type AB universal reciever! Because they don't have antibodies they don't discriminate on the type of blood recieved.

Also side note the + and - of the blood type only refers to if they have the antigen rhesus or not!

This is only a half truth. Blood type "O" is the universal donor. It works like this: Blood type A has antibody "B" - in other words it cannot cannot accept blood type "B" because the antibodies will react from the host blood type "A". Blood Type "B" has antibody "A" so it cannot accept "A" type blood. Blood type "AB" does not have an antibody attached and is therefore termed the "universal recipient." Blood Type "O" has antibodies "A" and "B" which means that it can only receive blood type "O" blood. So, any blood type can receive blood type "O", because no blood type carries the "O" antibody. Although not universal, Blood type "O" is the most common with about 70% of the worlds population with that blood type. Hope this helps - Trisha Linton Wichita Falls, Texas

It's type O- !!! NOT O +

Type O blood does not contain the A or B antigen, so it will not be rejected by any reciever. It also does not contain the rhese's factor, which could be rejected by people who are rhese's negative.

AB+ is the unoversal recipient since it contains all possible antigens.

I believe it is O-. Which I am. Which means it is hard for me to have children. Only 15% of the population is O-.
