I am going to the States (I'm from London) for a friend's wedding in December. What's there to do in Flint (Nightclubs etc;)?

I'm about an hour East of Flint in Port Huron (Port Huron is right on the Candian/US border). Flint is also about an hour or so North of Detroit which is also on the US/Canadian border. To be honest, I don't usually go to Flint just to go to Flint and it's more the large city that I just drive through to get somewhere else; I actually drove through/around it today on the way home from my brother's home in the Bay City/Midland area. I honestly don't know anything about Flint's nightlife- they have a minor league hockey team and a mall that I go to from time to time; if you like malls/shopping there is a huge mall about a half hour South of Flint (near Pontiac) called Great Lakes Crossing. If you learn nothing else about Southeast Detroit, understand that the local economy is probably the worst in this area in all the US as the region was tied to the Big 3 domestic automakers and have been losing market-share/shedding jobs/etc. for like 2 decades now. Along with Detroit, Flint has been the city probably most effected (I always compare Flint as a mini-Detroit since they seem to have many of the same problems- lack of jobs/unemployment, gangs, drugs, organized crime, urban decay, etc.). To be honest, I don't know too much about Flint- ie "good" spots versus dangerous spots; I would actually suggest re-posting your question in the Travel-US-Detroit section and you're sure to get responses from people that live in, near, or are more familiar with Flint than I am. Not exactly sure what kind of things you are looking to do. For nightclubs, bar-hopping, etc. I could suggest plenty of other cities in within an hour or so from Flint that I personally know to be safe, fun, etc. South of Flint (and I'll rate the cities in my personal order of fun, safe nightlife towns) are Royal Oak, Windsor (which is actually in Canada just South of Detroit), possibly Pontiac (some good areas/some bad), or maybe even the Detroit casinos. North of Flint, I'd suggest Bay City (and also avoid nearby Saginaw which has also become dangerous). There are plenty of other smaller, quieter towns, cities, etc. depending on what your "speed" is, what type of nightlife you enjoy, etc.; Port Huron, for example, has a downtown with plenty of bars, etc but is much "quiter" than the other places I have mentioned- which fits me well. Feel free to message me and I'll try to match you with a place I see that would match your needs/interests. Just curious are you renting an automobile or if your friends have one and, more importantly, how did your friend end up in Flint?

News article from today that Flint was rated the nation's third most dangerous city- right behind Detroit and St. Louis, MO.

Petfinder has animals in regional shelters. You pay a small adoption rate which covers spay/neuter, and so on... Finding a unfastened dog in a newspaper most commonly is not the pleasant concept - you certainly not recognise if you are getting it from a dog mill, or if they have got looked after the mum or dog. Petfinder permits you to support puppies discover well houses & you'll get a excellent puppy within the method. They also have dogs, no longer simply older puppies.
