Hello.

I accidentaly stuck a printed paper sticker on the wrong hard plastic item, and i would like to remove the sticker without ruining it but its quite stuck and im afraid it will fall apart if i try to peel it.

Any ideas on how to remove this sticker without ruining the sticker iteslf. all the other advice i have seen involves ruining the sticker, this is not an option in my case, the sticker is the thing of value.

So i doubt i can use solvents like acetone, alcohols etc.. as it will more then definately ruin the sticker anlong with what is printed on it.

someone has mentioned heat,, i dont know if this will work , and i have not tried it yet.

Any other ideas?

I have removed many stickers from plastic, glass and many other surfaces by using blowing heat from a hairdryer over the sticker for a short time or until you can very easily peel the sticker off. Good luck. It always works for me.

Heat is the best way, If you have an iron with the steam feature just apply that to the sticker and it should peel off easily,

Greetings!
Your best shot is to use steam. Carefully starting at one corner and gently lifting as the bond releases from the plastic. Don't get the sticker to wet and you will be ok.

Good Luck

Try gracie's idea. With an extension cord, you can take that
blow dryer a 100' and use it at different angles. Of course, start at one edge and work to the other. It does work rather well.

Actually, instead of heat try to freeze it if you can. I did this with stamps one time to get them off without ruining them and it worked. (my daughter thought they were stickers and put them on her toys.)
