And if you would explain how certain smells made your list (for example, they might bring back certain memories or be associated with good feelings, etc.) Thank you :)

I adore the following:

Woodsmoke, candles, matches (lit or not and no, I don't play with them!), fresh pinetrees/forests, homemade cakes/crepes, cinammon, just-out-of-the-oven bread, coffee (though not to drink!), red roses, lavender, jasmine, lilies, dandelions, the smell of a freshly shaven man's face (aka my dad, not an actual companion already), Chanel #5 perfume, the smell of those plastic pool toys, the smell of morning dew, dawn, the smell during/after a storm, a freshly mown lawn, autumn, winter and finally, warm clean laundry.

Now, as it would take me a terribly long time to add each story or feeling I get attatched to these much appreciated smells, let me just say that most ARE attatched to a childhood story, a natural appreciation/passion (ex= my love of flowers) or because it brings a certain special emotion, such as amusement or soothing.

Great question! : )

P.S. I never realized I had so many favorite smells until I answered this question of yours! Wow! Funny, huh?

Lilacs. I love 'em. It is not attached to a good memory. When I was a child, many people had lilac bushes at the rear of their yards. I went home from school through the alleys, to avoid the bullies that were always picking on me when I took the more normal route. The lilacs made the detour well worth it.
Fresh-baked bread, popcorn and a lot full of fresh cut pine trees at Christmas time also make the list, with no story attached.

I'm with "eddie" - I wear patchouli, and have been for decades, and I guess it's because it reminds me of less complicated days, long past. I just love the smell. I've driven three hours to get to a particular flea market that had the only version I loved, in that little brown glass bottle, bought up their whole supply, and it was worth every penny and minute.

I love the aroma that fills the house when my husband makes his wonderful tomato sauce - "gravy" - especially when he browns up the sausages, pork shops, meatballs, and pepperoni that are gonna go in it. It makes me drool with anticipation!

I love the smell of my hair after I wash it with Suave "Coconut" shampoo. I love the smell of just about any dark-tanning oil. It reminds me of summers spent on Jones Beach, lazy and baking, long before I knew how bad it was for me.

I love the smell of my husband's cologne - Ralph Lauren's "Romance". Just a whiff of that stuff makes me swoon, and reminds me of when we first met.

Where IS that man right now, anyway?!?

I'm generally a push-over when it comes to perfume and cologne. If I'm in a room and someone walks in wearing one or the other, I'm immedaiately relaxed. I don't even have to see the person. I really can't think of a particular cologne or perfume that I find disagreeable. I even like those Tag body sprays. My favorite to wear is probaly Hugo Boss.
I don't know why I have such indiscriminate taste for scents.

1) Honeysuckle in early spring - gives off a groovy feeling.

2) Ironing clean clothes - it brings out the fabric softener

3) Certain plastic - reminds me of childhood Halloween costumes

4) Clean cat litter - reminds me that I have a week before I have to change it again

5) Sweet grass sage - it puts me and my home in an equalized state.

The smell of homemade pasta. It reminds me of my daycare I used to go to as a child.

I also like the smell of fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, for no reason at all. Just because they smell yummy!

The smell of blue rasberry cotton candy reminds me of the amusement park I used to go to as a child.

My favorite smells include new books, leather, cigars, and my husbands after shave. These smells make my list because they are my favorite things to smell.

I LOVE the way that fall smells. I cannot pin-point what it is exactly that makes it smell so good, but I LOVE it. It always reminds me of my senior year of high school-- cheering on our football team, having bonfires, and my birthday.

i have a few...my son after i give him a bath with Lavendar baby soap..i think every mother enjoys the scent of their child...i know its kind of an iky perfume, but the dollar store sells Taboo...my grandmother used to use just a dash of it on herself...unfortunately she passed away in August from Lung Cancer, i went to her house after the funeral and found a small bottle of it and took it...every now and then i open and take a smell..its like i am back in time with her

i used to use Juniper Breeze spray from bath and body works many years ago...now when i smell it, it takes me back to when i was 18, riding around in cars with my friends, having small parties in the corn field ( we lived in a small town )...takes me back down memory lane
