They can. If you look at a picture of a large frog like a bullfrog, you'll see a large, flat circle on his head behind his eye. This is called the tympanic membrane, and is homologous (related to) the tympanic membrane in your ear that allows you to hear vibrations. Sound is, after all, only the vibration of air. So instead of having a whole bunch of skin and cartilage devoted to their ear (which would make them very un-hydrodynamic when swimming), they simply have a flat tympanic membrane.

The Warner Brothers mascot, Michigan the singing frog has certainly given us plenty of doubt as their ability to hear human voices for he would never sing on command. However, other frogs in show business have clearly revealed their ability to not only hear our voices, but comprehend and respond in english as demonstrated by our good friend, Kermit. And let's not forget the famed Budweiser trio. I hope this helps and thank you for that thought provoking question...it's questions like this that may someday lead us to a cure for cancer.

Yes, but they don't pay attention. Human voices are just "external noise" to them. No matter how hard you try, you can't train your pet frog to come when you call.
On the other hand, they're very visually oriented. If your pet frog sees you come into the room, he'll turn to face you, hoping you'll give him a handout. (A wild frog will, of course, jump or dive).

Many things do happen even in these days. People in general have in my opinion lost so much faith, and ability so understand the plan of God. We expect God to just make things known. We expect him to bow down to us it seems. It's us that fall short of doing our part. God gave us free-agency and so few physical Revelations and manifestations occur. I had many struggles with the fact that the plan of God is perfect and it's us that have the problem. God wants us to have faith. It was by faith these miracles happened. Human kind in the masses is falling away from God as we advance in science and technology. We have free thinking and temptations from the Devil which are suttle but powerful. Life is a test in that we can't have consistent confirmation of God's existence. This life is a probationary state we are here to prove our selves in a way. If God has to constantly prove things to us to affirm faith and love in him then we are truly worthless creations. If people want miracles to "prove" some thing maybe they just need to pray and try to be humble a little bit. The spirit of God or the holy ghost is not loud but understanding is hard to deny when you work for truth and do your part.
