The balloon inside the ball keeps the air inside as it has no patches unlike the leather which is sewn. The balloon is basically air tight :-)

They don't all need bladders

Synthetic balls you don't because they are bonded together.

BUT

With leather balls there are always going to be air gaps around the stitching so you need a bladder inside to keep the ball inflated

If it didnt - the ball would not hold the air and just deflate through the leather. The ballon is rubber and hence airtight xx

its what keeps it's shape. if it didnt have the balloon, it would just be a lether/plastic thingie. I'm not sure if all balls have them, but i do know theres alot that do have them.

and so when u kick it and stuff it goes further, .. and it wouldnt keep air other wise.
