You and I know that Bush must lie to survive. He is addicted to distorting the truth. He puts words in the Democrats' mouth. Stupid uninformed republicans will believe Bush and blindly will parrot what he says. If democrats make Health benefits, medical expenses and other social programs more affordable, so why not raise taxes a little bit. I am sure the wealthy of America can afford another $100 increase.

Dictator Dumbya has put the USA on the credit card for a LONG time. SOMEBODY is eventually going to have to pay the bill. Dumbya doesn't want it to be his cronies nor be blamed for the spending spree on the super rich. For now the Dumbyabots are irrationally using Clinton as the economic whipping boy. If Dumbya can get out of town before an economic collapse, and if somehow a Democrat is a successor by overwhelming the Diebold cheat machines with real votes, then the status of whipping boy will pass there, if the right wing media has anything to say about it. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

Well, we must start out by making the Democrats define the average american. Dems like to raise taxes. It is just a fact of life so you better get used to it. That isn't to say that Republicans don't ever raise them, it just isn't as often. What actually is the average american to a Democrat? That is the question. Can you answer it? Will they answer it? When Clinton was in office he floated up the trial balloon that he wanted to tax btu's. Reaction wasn't that good so he dumped it. That would affect every american regardless of their averageness.

Raising taxes on ANYONE is counterproductive to a healthy economy. It is also prejudicial, picking out one group of people for punishment. (I thought Democrats were opposed to bigotry in any form.) Here is a fact that you may not know. The top 50% of wage earners pay 96.54% of all income taxes! The top 1% pay 34.27% of all income taxes!! And you want them to pay even more?
You are buying into the typical Democrat campaign ploy of class warfare. Blame the rich, soak the rich, be jealous of the rich. I'm not buying it. And just for your information, I earn about $34,000 a year. So I am far from wealthy.
I believe our government needs to tighten its budget, spending less instead of taxing more. I believe BOTH parties have failed the American people on this point.

yeah no shite, even bill gates agrees with you, i watched him say so on an interview. it don't make any sense. Corporations are making all time record profits, yet the Republican controlled government is not raising there tax, they lower it. if the government taxed me 5% on my $100 pay check of well $5. but if they taxed a corporate CEO 5% on his pay check well, that's more money then i could count. it makes sense too tax the rich, but the Republicans feel it makes better sense to give then tax breaks. but it's no real surprise considering where Bush gets all his money.
Lobbyist should be illegal.
Republicans wont even say how much money they are going to spend on the republican sentae race in my state. what do they got to hide.

Reminds me of a bleeding heart lieberal Iworked with in the ole' factory before I retired. He worked lots of overtime, and he and his wife totalled around $80,000 a year. This was in the late 80's.

When his Dem buddies were still running things, they would raise taxes 'on the rich' and his taxes, at income of $80,000 would go up. And, he'd be so angry you could see foam on his lips when he ranted, that those evil Republicans were raising taxes on low income people like him, instead of socking it to the rich.

He was so stupid he didn't realize in the 80's, a household income of $80,000 a year meant he WAS rich.

Yeah, Dems say they are going to raise taxes only on the rich, but they ALWAYS raise them on everyone. You should stop memorizing the Dem catechism, and watch what actually happens.

Every republican I've heard say that democrats want to raise taxes DID also say that they want to do it to the wealthy.

I still don't like it.

Why punish people for getting wealthy? Shouldn't we reward people for getting wealthy, in order to encourage self-betterment??? Why do we make it easy for people to stay poor and comfortable, yet make it punishable to become wealthy and self sufficient? If we didn't encourage so much poverse behavior, there wouldn't BE so much poverse behavior.

Please explain why you would want to tax the wealthy more than the lower class?

That makes things VERY unproportional.

That's your take on the issue. Democrats historically raise taxes on EVERYONE. And using your logic...If I work REALLY hard and get REALLY rich, I should pay for the lazy bum who lays around all day doing nothing???
